Acupuncture

Acupuncture can be useful for treating:

• Arthritis (hips, shoulders, elbows, back)
• Hip dysplasia
• Seizure disorders
• Soft tissue injuries such as sprains, muscle strains, and neck pain
• Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS or "dry eye")
• Lick granulomas
• Neurologic conditions
• Pain and nausea related to cancer
• Chronic digestive disorders (IBD, diarrhea, constipation)
• Spinal cord disorders
• Immune-mediated diseases and chronic liver or kidney diseases
  

Acupuncture is the treatment of conditions or symptoms by the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body. Because of the differences in anatomy, and the potential for harm if the treatments are done incorrectly, only a properly trained veterinarian should perform acupuncture on animals. Dr. Stephanie Gorman has completed extensive training through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society so that she can perform these treatments safely and appropriately.
